Bonnie Cashin Tweed Skirt Ensemble
Bonnie Cashin's long career in design spanned many decades. Starting in the 1980's, she designed ballet costumes at the Roxy Theater. She also designed women's uniforms for the armed forces during World War II. In the 1940's, she moved into Costume Design for Hollywood. Bonnie opened her own business in the 50's, "Bonnie Cashin Designs", and proceeded to win multiple awards for introducing the concept of "layering" to the fashion world. In the 60's, she became the first designer hired by Coach to create a new line of women's handbags.
